Question? Is $700 a fair price
For the 100 hrs service on a
Yamaha vmax 200? The shop said that includes all the "mystery filters" along with
Plugs, compression test and several other
Things the service includes.
Thanks

I would ask about mystery filters.
Praying for a Cure
Thats a lot especially if they didn't change the waterpump and pressure test lower unit. Filters are nothing to change.
Seems like a lot to me. I'm thinking the cost should be 2 hours labor plus parts.

Can anyone refer someone in the
North Georgia area that you would
trust in to work on your boat? I thought
$700 sounded high, that's why I asked.
Way too high!
The 100 hour service kit with all the mystery filters is $156 at Sim Yamaha. https://www.simyamaha.com/Yamaha_100...0225250-39.htm

Those Yamahas do have so called "mystery" filters.
I had the three year done on my 115 ProXS 4S this year. It was 750.00. They changed filters, LU fluid, new water pump, spark plugs, etc... I look at that price as warranty cost. I've done the annuals myself buying parts from the dealer once a year.
I've had two Merc warranties on other motors where they called in the regional tech rep. I know the value of doing everything the manufacturer calls for.
Dang that is high. Mine was around $250 but I had already changed the water pump so that wasn't included.
That’s about the right price for NorCal.

Well as they say , time is money....
I'm not sure about a SHO, but on the HPDI V Max the "mystery filters" are the screens/filter in the ends of the fuel injectors. There is also 2 or3 of them in/behind the high and low pressure fuel pumps. It takes some doing to get to them. Not hard to do, but time
consuming. The filter/screens are cheep ($1 a piece.) I'd have to check in my service manual, but I thought replacement for them was 400 hrs?
sounds about right. think mine was $600. 100 hour service should include all fuel filters, water pump, impeller, plugs, decarb, etc

Not terrible. I have a vmax ox66 and the marina wanted $750.. Clean o2 sensor, swap plugs, impeller, lower unit oil, vst filter, side filter, gas line filter, oil tank filter, and check low pressure fuel pumps.
I brought it to backyard mechanic and he charged $300. Although I am doubtful he did everything the marina claimed they would do.
But I know he did a lot.
I've never had a Yamaha, but that sure sounds like a very high price. Never spent anywhere near that on any Mercury I've had.
