    Yamaha pro v advice

Ok guys I have a 1991 yamaha 225 pro v. It has low compression on one cylinder and since I am going to have it apart, should I remove the oil injection and go to premix? Also, does anyone know where I could find a coned lower unit? Thanks in advance. And can someone tell me the max rpms of this motor.

Why do you want a coned LU? Yamaha may have the best oil inj out there. I would not remove it.

Do not, repeat, do not, remove the oil injection system.

The last time there was a Yamaha oil injection system failure was in... Wait, can't remember ever hearing of one failing.

Are you going to just remove the intake system and cylinder head to remove just the one piston and rod or ????

Unless you are running over 80+ mph, You dont need a coned LU... Infact you will loose bow lift and speed on a slower set up.

Red line RPM should be 5500.

I concur 100%, I have a 30 year old ProV and never an issue with the oil injection system.
