    2004 J150 won’t plane out

    2004 Johnson J150glsrm
So I recently rebuilt all six carbs and installed new bowls. Motor starts and idles well. I took it out to the lake yesterday and it wouldn’t plane out or get over 2000RPM.

Ive read on other posts that there shouldn’t be a nylon washer under the needle seat. Is this true? I did put the washer there.

Should I remove the washer and level the floats?

That and did you remember to move the high speed orifices from the old bowls to the new float bowls?

Thanks for your reply and being so knowledgeable. I overlooked moving the orifices, just moved the plug. I was able to find the old bowls in our dumpster. Got lucky it hadn’t been emptied yet.
    Thanks again

Good call Fred! His knowledge, and your willingness to go dumpster diving just saved you $150! You'd think those little brass jets were made of uranium lol!
