I am looking at doing a poured transom on my 482. I know that the transom board extends all the way from one side of the boat to the other. Structurally it is only anchored in the middle via the four knee braces. Has anyone poured a transom on a nitro, and if so, where did you stop on the sides? Getting access to the entire transom due to the location of the flotation boxes would be almost impossible. This has turned into a mess... thanks to the silicone on the tie down bolts that are below the water line. I'm open to options, but cutting the floor out and removing the top cap is something I don't have the space to do myself. I am willing to cut the outside skin off of the back. my question, is can i pour the middle section of the transom and leave the good wood on the sides, etc?
