    Totalscan on carbon

Guys I swapped my structure scan transducer with a totalscan and gen2 with carbon. The carbon didn’t auto find it on channel 2. Haven’t had it on water yet but I’m trying to understand different options of the new unit. Is the chirp just better picture? Is the totalscan usable for temperature? Also can I turn channel 1 off if I’m only networking the normal transducer from another unit? Thanks for your help guys.

Update the software on the Carbon and do a hard reset. Then check Channel 2 again.
Chirp means you send (and receive) on several frequencies in a sweep. Yes, it will usually provide a clearer picture but also better target-separation.
    Yes, TotalScan has a temp-sensor.
Yes, turn off Channel 1 if it is not used.

Thanks guys updated unit pages changed, I am now able to use channel 2 for temperature and it’s now reading channel 2 for 2d as well.
