Fishing rods are far too personal and subjective to have an undisputed "best". A lot of people really like NRX's but a lot of people also prefer other rods. One thing I can tell you is to try to avoid using the price as a measuring stick. There's a lot of factors that go into setting the price of a fishing rod. Many of them have no bearing on performance or quality.

It's between NRX894 and Conquest 904C. I personally prefer the Conquest. Megabass Destroyer FMJ is also very good.

I use mainly Kistlers but with a jig that size you can't pry the NXR 894 out of my hands! There just something really special about the NRX 894 and 1/2oz jigs

If you look up best Jig rod in the dictionary it say NRX 894! in my dictionary anyway
I'm a jig tossing fool and fish a jig year round..Once I picked up the NRX 894 I couldn't put it down. My next best is the NRX 873 but I use that one for 3\8 oz work.

I'm using the new ALX Rods ENOX BMJ right now and fishing 25-35' deep with a 1/2oz Victory Tackleworks Warlord jig... which is a modifed arky. The ENOX LSB is another good option if you want more length.

The NRX 894 is hard to beat. The Kistler zbone may be a hair more sensitive but when you get into jigs the line used, rod action preferred and amount of power sought will vary from fisherman to fisherman making best indeterminable. Then if rod cosmetics are part of your equation even greater diversity of opinion.

nrx894 is crazy sensitive but,in my opinion, is poorly built and annoyingly tip heavy. Recently picked up the Xtasy 755. Sensitivity is fantastic and it's so light and balanced.

I have a chair leg protector on my 894's with some weights in it to make my balance perfect. I'd forget I have this until I see a post like the one from iabass8. the 894 when balanced feels lighter then when not even though I've knowingly added near 1oz to the butt. The feeling of balance and feeling of weight are highly related.

$600 rod that you have to add weight to the butt to stop it from being tip heavy. "Best there is." Wow.

If you're gonna drop that kind of money on a rod, have one custom built. Anyone who's half way competent can build you something that beats the pants off any production rod for half the cost.

7'10" heavy flipping rod I've got probably $120 in materials into (without professional rod builder wholesale discounts), carbon fiber grips (which are lighter and therefore add less butt weight to balance a tip heavy stick), and balances a inch forward of the reel seat with a Tatula Type-R, something like 15" from the butt. Same blank as the Z-bone....the same blank is on sale for $110 right now, I was able to grab this one for $87 last Black Friday.
