Illegal from patent infringement. That’s why they were all taken off the market.

How many of the 3/8 and 1/2 do you have? Might take them off your hands if you come up with a price.

I was also contacted by email from a rep. with Z Man with a demand of "cease and desist" from producing direct jig to blade jigs. Followed up with email to get further information and basis for contact. Said they were successful in court action on patent infringement with a financial settlement.... if you want more info suggest you "google" Z man, patent infringement. I am a small manufacturer and was amazed that it was worth their time for multiple contacts to me. Thanks Michael

It's an interesting situation since the patent doesn't cover the open eye jig heads, it only covers the way the jig head is attached to the blade. If you buy a closed eye jig heads it's not an infringement. If you open the eye it's not an infringement. If you open the eye and connect directly to a blade, now it's an infringement. So why is there an issue with selling open eye jig heads? Surely they have other uses besides bladed jigs.

You might want to call and ask for yourself. I have spent some quality time on the telephone with Daniel Nussbaum.

It was just for the sake of discussion Mike. Realistically, the way I see it you could own 1 million open eye jig heads and there wouldn't be anything they could do about it until you hung one on a blade.

I understand what you’re saying. But what other use would you have for them like you mentioned in post above?

I agree with your thought on that and I see it the same way. The problem is the way the courts see it and there has to be an issue otherwise the vendors wouldn't have stopped selling them. It was a hot item and just like that every lure supply store stopped selling them pretty much at the same time.

Probably came down to how much they would have to spend to prove they could sell them vs how much they actually profited by selling them...

The open eye part... Nothing to do with the head w/o weed guard.
