Which prop is best for a ZX225?

I picked up my ZX225 yesterday. It came with a 25P T2 prop. Is that prop the best prop for this boat? What prop do you like the best for tournament loads?

Load it up the way your gonna use it, and run it and see how you like it. Its definitely a good prop to start with. Good luck with the new ride, I love mine!

Load it with heavy items to the back, set it at 2.25 ptp and run it.

Send that prop to Croxton after some seat time and you will notice a difference

I found just adding a little cup really gets the boat on plane and nose up a bit. Seems skeeters like to run flat and even though they are great props and usually the correct prop for the boat that extra cup really nails it.

The 25p T2 is a good prop for break-in. After that, I would run a 25 Tempest for heavy loads. I use a 26 Tempest for normal loads. Both Tempest Props have been Croxtonized.

I finally got an opportunity to run my ZX225. After the first 2 hours of break in I opened it up at varying RPM's from 3000 to 5000 for the next hour. The 4th hour went WOT and trimmed it up up to 6000 rpm for 5 minutes and saw 73.2 mph most of those 5 minutes before bringing it back down to 2000 rpm. Is this WOT speed about average for a ZX225?

    Yes, that's good.

I had 3/4 tank of fuel and all of my gear in the boat. My dealer told me to put as much weight in the boat as possible and just plow the boat with no trim following the break in instructions for the first 2 hours. I'm going to try a 25P Tempest next and see how it handles.

That's not bad, but there's probably a little room for improvement. Which jackplate do you have?

I have a 2019 zx225 with a Tempest Plus 25p my boat with a full tank of gas and live wells full, full tournament load and a passenger runs about 68mph in 55 degree water. It's set at 8 dots but thinking about dropping it. I do not have a problem with porpoising or anything. I don't know if lowering it would would pick up speed or raising it would.

I have the factory manual jack plate set at 7 dots. Last week I noticed stress cracks on my prop on 2 of the blades. I just got a replacement today from my dealer. Are the blades on the T2 supposed to be wavy at the blade edge?

They aren't "supposed" to, but that does sound "normal" for those props. Personally, I would toss that T2 in the trash, and get something else...like anything else. I prefer the Tempest.
