I've got a 225 sho 2016 my boats rated for a 250. I've debated flashing it to a 300hp. Pros and cons. And as long as I leave the rpm limit as is does it void the warranty ? Or can it?. 600 is a better option than selling and swaping to a 250.

The Flash is 1000% worth it. I gained about 3-4 mph and overall performance is way better. I went from a 250 to a 300 so you stand to gain more than I did. As I understand it if you leave the limiter alone it wont affect warranty but Ive never had to test it.

Thanks
Who is flashing them and do you have to take to them or is it a plug in?
200-300 sho's internally are exactly the same only dif is the ecu programming so its like taking your stock 200 and making it in to a stock 300 as far as the limiter yamaha has a very low factory rpm limit a few hundred rpm isnt going to hurt them...we have tested them to 7500....

These are the guys I'd let do it for sure.
Just had my 225 flashed. But I had my RPM's raised to 6500. Very happy!!!!
What does it cost to get a ECU flashed?
From what I heard 600 or so plus you gotta ship
Here's a link to Hydrotec's info on flashing: https://www.hydrotecmarine.com/whats-new/ It seems like you can buy the cable and the flash and do it yourself.
The last time I spoke to Wayne, he had quit selling the the "do it at home" program.
I have a 225 Sho and barely ge 70mph. Been seriously thinking of flashing. What are Cons of doing it?
I ran one on a Skeeter ZX250 w/250 that was flashed this weekend and it makes a big difference other than top speed. Holeshot and acceleration are much improved. With just me the bow barely lifted on take off and it's a rocket ride to 60 MPH. It will push you into the seat until about 50 or so. A boat that normally did 68 with two big people was now pushing 73 in a heavy chop. I had it up to 75.1 by myself and it started chine walking a little. I ran out of room on the tiny lake we were on before I could drive out of it and get more.
It topped out at about 6100 RPMS.
Stock limiter is 6200 so you could leave it there and still get plenty of benefit. If you hit the limiter too much go to a 26p prop. Wayne can also set the limiter to 6500.
I have a zx200 and had mine flashed by Hydrotec to 300 with 6500 limiter. Don't regret it a bit and have had no issues. Switched to a 26 T2 prop and have had it up to 81mph in cooler weather. That is full fuel, 2 - 12' talons and all gear.

Wow 81mph!!! Crazy I would be happy with 75. I was looking on there site and saw they ooffer 3 different rev limiter settings. Whats does this do? Do I have to get another prop if I do flash? I have had my prop balanced and blue printed and have hydro jackplate.
I recommend that the limiter be moved to the 6500 for most boats this way you dont have to get another prop.... a buddy Kieth just busted 100 mph in a 196 triton 200 sho flashed to 7000 with the lower unit mod....crazy fast
