Potential for Kentucky Lake to get grass again?

I know everyone has heard of someone's Uncle's Brother's Niece that has a hair dresser that knows someone at TVA that said they killed all the grass. For this argument, lets say that the floods on Kentucky lake killed all the grass. Say we got ideal conditions this fall and winter. No high water. Less muddy water. Could the lake grow grass this spring? Seems to my small mind it could be possible unless TVA sprays 178k acres of lake in March haha

Anything is possible. Old Hickory is showing signs of grass recovery, finally.

Anything is possible but it sure would help to get rid of those Asian carp.

Old hickory grass has been gone for 10+ years. Funny we had a cold/wet/muddy spring but grass still going strong.

I posted this in another thread and it might be wild but its a thought that ran through my head. Is it possible with the carp being filter feeders that they could filter out the nutrients in the water thats needed for grass to grow? Also, with the massive herds of carp in the backs of the bays and on the main river flats, is it possible they could root out the grass before it has a chance to take off? Im certainly no biologist and may be way off track but have to wonder if its possible. The carp have obviously ate the shad population way back from what it was by filtering the water, so who knows
They aint got hands, set the hook

TVA can take credit for spraying/killing the grass
in the early 90s on KY Lake. I am not aware of
    any spraying since then.
While it was here bass fishing was fantastic.

How long did it take for it to come back when they sprayed it in the 90's?

The grass left in 2013. It was plentiful from midlake-south and then totally disappeared the next year. Hasn't been back as far as I can tell and I fish primarily from Blood River to New Johnsonville. IMO it is one of several reasons the fishing has drastically declined. I am hopeful the grass will return and help the fishery on Kentucky Lake plus if the carp are controlled that will help also. I've been fishing the lake for 45 years at least 60 days a year and it is in as bad a shape that I've ever seen. Sad!

I fished the Wildcard out of Kentucky Dam Friday and Saturday. I have no experience on Ky Lake/Barkley but practiced 2 days before the tournament and couldn't catch a keeper then or during the tournament. Caught some 13-14.5 inchers that looked healthy. I experienced the tough bite and Asian Carp first hand. Nothing new to you guys who fish it all the time. But dang it was tough for me. I fished Barkley the entire tournament. People caught them but those people were not me.
