    Deer

They are on the move. Watched one just about loose to a van this morning. About this time a year, there is one hit almost every day on mile 7 mile drive to work.

I drove out to Phillipsburg a couple Saturdays ago, almost hit several coons, skunks, assorted other varmits running across the road, I didn't see any deer until I got to Kirwin, then saw 2 different pairs running towards the highway but was able to avoid them easily

I ran over one Friday evening. Lucky it slipped and fell on the hardtop right before I hit it and it never hurt my truck. I had enough time to barely hit the brakes but never got slowed down any. Got lucky on that one.

Yesterday evening, we were finally putting the pool cover on and it almost sounded like we lived in the city. Lots of horns blowing and a few tire screeches. They cut the beans down and those must be like candy to the deer, they were all over the field last night. Got tired of counting at 34.

years ago my cousin that farms in Rooks Co. had a huge whitetail on his properties all summer, deer season came and the deer had disappeared, couple weeks after season my cousin almost hit the same deer on the road

Got lucky this morning. An incoming car hit a deer and threw it into the air and it landed in my lap. It was as gruesome of a scene as what you can imagine. I was covered head to toe in blood guts and shit. Just thankful to be alive.
