Had Die Hard PS1 Replacement?
ok so what's the question?
Best replacement for a Die Hard PS1 Cranking battery? got 6 years out of it.
Sams Duracell 31agm is pretty popular.
Assuming we're talking about the PM1, the Northstar group 31 and Batteries Plus X2 Power group 31 I *believe* are the same battery...or are missing one hell of an opportunity if they're not. The X2 is usually cheaper with order online / pick up in store discounts. It might also be a Group 31 Odyssey which has basically the same specs as the above 2 but (per the manufacturer) is much more picky on the charger used.

I have had good luck with the BPS XPS batteries.
Thanks drew Group 31 is what I am searching I know i am going to spend 300+ Bat + probably the way i go . Any other suggestions
?
although sans club has a Duracell Group 31 AGM for $ 180
Without knowing exactly what the application is going to be might I suggest you go to the Mercury subforum and read the sticky regarding batteries that meet the requirement.
BATTERIES THAT MEET THE REQUIREMENT" - Reserve Capacity Monsters!
GETFISHED !!!
I’ve been using a NAPA commercial battery for about a year...so far so good
This seems to be a good resource from DEKA... Battery requirements by motor manufacturer.

The Duracell AGM is a Deka Intimidator with different stickers. A good battery, no doubt, and several guys are running them on outboards with top tier battery requirements without issue, but if you compare the specs, the others are significantly more powerful.
Duracell AGM: 800 CCA, 1,000 MCA, 200 minute reserve capacity
X2, just as an example: 1,150 CCA, 1,370 MCA, 220 minute reserve capacity
At basically half the cost, if it works and you get 4 years out of it, it's a better buy if you don't count the effort of switching out batteries. But if you want a Sears PM1 replacement, it had specs in line with the X2, so the Duracell would be a downgrade.
I've been running one of the Duracell group 31 commercial batteries as my cranking battery and just finished up my 4th year with it. It works great, but did start to drop off a bit towards the end of the season. At right at $100, I'd need a $300 battery to last 12 years to be an equal value. That said, it's a wet cell so I'm still dealing with checking water and all that. My motor (older Merc with a stator) is not recommended for use with an AGM, so I don't have much of a choice anyhow.

i will be right behind you in the Spring. The PS1 in my boat for cranking/electronics is a 2010, still turns motor over but is on bonus time at this point, as Drew points out probably will do the Sam’s Duracell AGM, they always have a Spring sale
