My dad picked this boat up i was amazed it looks brand new from gel to the seats looks like its been bubble wrapped all its live it has 09 225prox theres not a scratch on this motor at all !! it has a 25 fury prop whats a good base setup for this boat and what should it run? ive never seen a boat with 2 gas fill ups side by side it says port and strbd
I owned a 93 201 DC from late 92 thru 94. It had an exceptionally hot 200 XP that ran like a 225. The boat spun a 26 Raker prop to 6300 rpms which calculated to over 80 but held 78 with 10% slip factor. The 200XL is the same hull as the original 20'1" 201 but was renamed post 21SS Extreme series which ran from 99 through 2003. I believe 2004 was the first year it was designated as a 200XL. The later versions gained a lot of weight which drastically affected their performance.

I have a 2005 200 Pro Xl with a 225 vmax OX66. I am turning a 27 Tempest Plus, great holeshot and will run faster than I can drive it. I have had it to 69.8 before backing off.
My 07 201 with 225 Etec HO spun a Tempest 27 and 74 was the fastest I could get it to go but your 200 XL should see 78-79 under optimal conditions. These hulls love a tight 1' chop!Originally Posted by ameneddie

I don't believe they made a 200 XL in 1993. Are you sure it's not a 201 Pro XL

Yes...It is a 93 with the lightest front deck. The 1st years for the XL hull were arguably the fastest and had set speed records with Evinrude Limited Edition motors in 92. That one should scream.

Wow, what a find. I would consider pulling the motor and resealing the bolts with some 4200. That boat is pretty, I had a 1989 like that. I'm thinking that boat is older than a 1993 though because it has the concave gunnel top cap. They made them convex in the 90s starting in the early 90s if I'm not mistaken. A previous owner of a 93 would know.

That is one very well-kept boat. Don't know what year they changed hull top cap like td referenced but the console is newer style much like my '95 - not my previous '89. Older also had the gas fillers on the back side of top cap. Styling of front seat upholstery like my '89. Apparently '93 was a transitional year for styling change. In either case it's a beautiful boat.
it's identical to my 96,think '91 was the last year of the old style and this style
was intoduced in 92 in the pro models.think they kept some smaller models in the older
square style build for a couple more years.buddy i fished with bought a 274 i think
