Got a buddy with a 2013 21XRD....bought in new. Over the past few months he’s getting a gas smell in the cockpit area after he fills up. It goes away after he burns some of the gas off. I’ve gone through the venting system, pulled the tank can’t find any reason for it. Has anyone else had this issue?

Single tank ? If multiple tanks maybe the selector is leaking or hose.

That's a new one, haven't heard that before Ted, sorry, does it have the charcoal filter system?
Only can be a few things, fill hose ,vent hose and the rubber gasket for the fuel sender, unless there is a crack or hole in the tank.
Been through all that ..... will go through it again.

Weird it's in the cockpit area, you think it would be around the gas flap or the back of the boat
If it has a spin on fill cap check the o-ring. What happens gas comes out as u back in at the ramp once u hit the water at angle the water mixed with gas get through the cable hole.
