Nitro Trailer Lights Connector

It seems that I need a new 5 pin connector for my Trailer, when I plug it in to the 7 way adapter the lights won't work, and when I put the Curt trailer connector between the 7 way and 5 way, the lights work. But what led me to look at my plug was the starboard side light was brighter than the port side light and my right turn signal doesn't work. I welcome any advise on this, because I'm stumped.

I had a problem with the truck side connector. Pins would push in and was unable to make a good connection.

If you are going to change the connector on your truck I'd suggest installing the round 7 way plug so you won't need an adapter. One less thing to cause a problem.
