it appears MAP pricing has been removed from Curado 70 and they are on closeout. Looks like the lil fella is leaving the lineup. If you are a fan get em while you can.....Dan

Love mine. Use it for squarebills and jerkbaits. Wish it wasn't in the xg though.

That's only $20 off, not exactly a deal. You can find them for $150 new elsewhere.

Are these good all around reels? Or more suited for finesse type stuff?

They have brass gears but from my experience with the few I've onwed they seem to get geary feeling fast from high resistance baits and big fish. They stay smother when you stick to the finesse stuff and do ok with casting down to 1/8 oz stuff on the right rod

Yes they do get Geary fast, but in my experiences, an easy fix. Some grease on the gears usually gets the job done. For some reason they just are this way. Same goes for the 200i series reels (they share the same gears as the 70s).

If you have a Gander Outdoors near you, check them out before its too late. The one near me had Curado 70s for around $140.

Pretty much. If Shimano was smart (and usually they are ) They would just do away with the 70, and bring the SLX MGL to the states. I mean, after all, they brought all the JDM names here and made totally different models out of them.
