a umbrella rig
Black or black/blue chatterbait. I catch a my share of fish on a chatterbait and see the pros catch’em on black, but for the life of me I can’t catch one on black or black/blue.
"The man of system is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamored with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it…He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chessboard.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments

That's me. I don't try a lot of new lures/techniques, so I really can't say I haven't caught one on X lure, because I don't own X lure. It's also interesting to see lures that I catch fish on that others post as not.
A-rig and the red lipless crank are 2 that I have tried with no success.
An old foe that everybody catches fish on except me...the Jitterbug. I have tried this thing since I heard stories as a young'un of hawgs blowing up on these. Nope. Not me. Daytime or night, zero. Ponds, rivers, lakes, it don't matter. Different colors, sizes, retrieves....it's just don't happen. I still have the collection in my topwater box, hoping one day I'll tie one on and the magic will happen.
