stradic ci4+ drag is not consistent

I recently bought a used stradic ci4+ and the drag is not consistent, sometimes the drag will pull out easier and sometimes it takes more effort to pull the drag. I don't know much about spinning reels but I did put a small amount of grease on the drag felt and it doesn't seem to help much. I'm not even sure if you're supposed to put grease on them or not. Do you guys know what it can be?

What kind of line is on it? If it has braid, but no backing the braid could be slipping on the spool.
