Looking at a used boat with this motor on it. Around 20hrs on the motor. Apparently the guy had health issues. What would you be concerned with for a motor sitting this long? Is it worth a 10hr drive?

Check to see if the upper bearing has been fixed with the retainer.

Any warranty left on the engine? If near a good Yamaha dealer, a test drive and a check out by a good mechanic would be worth the price.
I am located 10hrs away from this boat unfortunately....no warranty left either
Sorry for the late answer I just got back. There is a bearing on top of the motor that was comming out and Yamaha had to istall a retainer to keep it in place. Yamaha has a bulletin out on it.Originally Posted by Bassmaster09
