Looking at buying a 2001 Merc EFI
What pitch prop will preform best on the motor. I will be installing this motor on a 1997 Ranger 461VS with a 6" hydro jack plate.

My neighbor runs a 24P Trophy on his 462VS/175EFI (no jackplate). RPM's are right at 6000 WOT. The damn thing handles like it's on rails! It's absolutely incredible. You could probably run a 25P if you don't want your revs quite that high.

I ran the same boat. 25" Tempest ran best but never tried a Fury which is one that I think will run very well on that boat
I will tell you a worked 25 tempest on that boat will put a big ol smile on your face. A guy in my club has a 150 opti on a 461 and runs a 25 fury. It seems huge but it works on that boat. It has a ton of lift and gets out of the hole too.
I agree with a worked 25p tempest. Jackplate set at 3.25 ptp and she will scoot. Rpm’s will be in the neighborhood of 5900 and you will see 65-66 on most days

I replied to your post in the Mercury forum, but agree with the 25 Tempest Plus. That'll be the sweet spot for you!
