    Personal fitness trainer.

    If you had a relative that was a certified personal trainer with 10 years experience and you asked them to help get you in shape.
    Should it be;
    A) Pay them as if there is no family relationship because you requested their services
    B) Discounted rate because of being family?
    C) They are family, you shouldn’t have to pay them?

    Option A is what you should expect. Be happy if option B is offered. Avoid option C.

    Having just completed a fitness trainer class a few weeks back I would probably do it to help out both of us. I would think if its his main job and having 10 years experience he stays busy and I would offer to pay him what his rate is. Family or not if its his job you have to respect that. If he chooses to give you a discount or comp it thats on him.

    I use to help people all the time in the gym for free. Ive been asked to be a trainer a bunch of times.

    I would say its up to the person. I use to like to help others but not everyone is the same. Whats funny to me is the fat trainers. Shocks me that anyone signs with them.

    BTW with youtube you dont even need a trainer. You can learn about diet and fitness. I pretty much learned everything from youtube, Meal prep is key

    I would attempt to pay as a normal client and if he decides to give you some kind of discount great! Trust me, as an attorney, I have “friends” get some pretty unrealistic expectations about what I should do for them. If I choose to that’s my option but expecting a favor that would cost anyone else money is no bueno.

    Thanks, I was 6'4 285lbs and way out of shape. The doc put me on Test and I said its time to get in shape at the same time. If people only knew how much better life would be if they would get in shape. Heres me at 285lbs

    So this is the scoop.
    I requested his help, I didn’t/don’t expect it for free. He is flexible with my work schedule and told me what he charges other clients, he basically charges me me close to 30% less so I’m happy. It’s worth it to me. I feel I’m worth it.
    I have tried doing the YouTube thing but without someone there for motivation and to push me, I always fail.
