    fusible link

just wondering if anyone has built their own replacement fusible link....i own a 2016 115 optimax pro xs 2 stroke....had to replace the link on mine a while ago, and the dealer charged me $300 bucks.....i found a 100amp fuse holder on amazon, and was wondering if it's a good idea to make my own, or has anyone else done this.....any ideas???

You can buy fusable link wire. It is usually 2 sizes smaller then the primary wire. So a 10 gauge wire would have a 14 gauge for fusable link.

I would just buy the factory replacement. Only about $50.00 or so..

I wouldn't even think about this idea for the application you are asking about.

Replace it with the OEM Fusible Link, and make sure the battery/terminal polarity isn't reversed again.
