HDS Live 7" loses bottom
Hey guys,
I have a new HDS Live 7" on my bow. Took it out for the first time last Saturday...seems to work just fine until I get into shallow water. Once I'm in water less then 5', I lose bottom and only get (- - -). As soon as I get back out to deeper water, I see the depth again.
Any idea what would cause this? Disappointed that I am losing bottom...especially when you need it in such shallow water.
Thanks

The units have a depth offset feature which means that your unit may be negative depth if that makes sense. It is a feature that allows you to modify where the transducer thinks it is in relation to the bottom. For example, if you have it at the bottom of your trolling motor, it is in some cases 3'-4' below the surface. The offset allows for this to be compensated. You may check to see if you have altered it from factory. I run mine in depths of a 1-1.5' and it reads fine. You may try a soft and then a hard reset if it does not correct.
