looking for a spinning rod

I'm looking for a spinning rod in the 6ft 8" or 9" length for floating worms and 3/16 hair jigs. I have a Kistler KLX 7ft medium but want something shorter for skipping/tight places. I would like to stay under $200.00. The 6ft 8" medium feather looks good but how they rate their rods I'm worried it would be under powered.

Would the St.Croix in a medium light be to soft or is there more power than you think. I read reviews where it's a lot of peoples dropshot rod.

I personally use a St Croix Avid X 6’9” ML for ned rigs, weightless finesse worms, and sometimes wacky rig senkos. I love the lighter tip for weightless finesse worms and should be great for a hair jig too. Never once thought it was underpowered for those techniques. I’ve also used it for a 1/8oz shakey head and never had an issue with hookups. I think it’s the perfect rod for it honestly. Also for reference, I held a 7’ Avid X ML next to a Shimano curado 7’ Med and the actions were about the same. In my above post I mentioned a St Croix wacky rod but after thinking about it the action might be a bit too stiff for the technique you’re looking to use it for. I’d deff recommend going to a ML

The Avid X 6'9" MLXF has a soft tip, but goes into "backbone" quick. It has PLENTY enough power. as much power as any medium power rod out there.
