I have the Tatula, and just bought the Procyon from the Trap. The Procyon Al , it is super smooth , tight and precise, I like it better than the Tatula.

They are on sale at Cabela's... I was thinking of picking up a couple, never used one.
I have three of them, 3000 size...Made by Daiwa...no problems for a couple of years now. Seem to be a good deal when on sale.

Do not buy any Abu Garcia spinning reels if you plan on fishing in cold weather. The anti-reverse stops working. I know of a least a dozen reels (100 percent fail in the cold).

Has Shimano fixed the binding problem on their spinning reels when they get wet?

Love my BG the little I've used it. Feels like a little tank. I also have a Procyon EX and 16 EM MS 2508PE-H that are still in their boxes. Just can't seem to move away from my baitcast reels. :-(

One reviewer said he wouldn't hesitate to pay twice the cost of the Procyon EX. Very smooth. Does an excellent job of handling fluorocarbon.

If you look at TW reviews, what you say is total substantiated. I don't know how a major manufacturer can get let something like this persist.

Know this is old thread, but I’ll take a ss1300 daiwa as my favorite.

I agree with Bassmeister you don't have to spend big money for a quality reel, I have some of the Lew's and they are sweet reels, 10BB's and nice drag I use mine at least 85% of the time I'm on the water and fish at least 25 tourneys a season that a lot of use at least 3 times a week and so on check them out unless your one of these guys that has to have the big dollar stuff they will work for you under a $100

I agree. I was shocked how smooth this reel is and how solid it feels.
