Daiwa BG or Tatula. Both work well paired with 7-0 Dobyns Fury rods. Money left over for diesel fuel and bacon and eggs!

i use to be a stradic guy. tried the tatula and was instantly converted. i do use shimano exclusively in baitcasting but slowly moving to tatula for spinning.

Stradic CI4 or Daiwa Tatula, and you will love them, im a shimano person. I Really dont care about warranty, i haven't purchased anything in the past 10 years that warranty covered.

Any daiwa in that range are going to be great. For me it is the ss 1300, no bells, no whistles, but will last a lifetime.

Newer Shimanos in that range don’t have the ability to turn off the anti-reverse function. Although the drag on the Stradic Ci4 is excellent I have gotten used to back-reeling when fighting bigger fish so for that reason I prefer the new Daiwas.

I'm a bit old school (aka wicked old) but I cannot recommend highly enough the Daiwa SS series of spinning reels.... I have at least 6 SS1300's that range from 15+ years old to ones bought last year. Absolutely bullet-proof, back reel-able... and a fantastic drag system. I have not needed the bigger 1600 series, but I'll bet they are just as good. The best $100 reel ever.

    Best Regards.....

Stradic Ci4 2500 and you’ll never have a regret. It’s the Honda Accord of spinning reels.

Another vote for the Lew’s Custom Pro. I have CI 4’s and recently purchased two Lew’s Custom Pro reels and really like them. I think the CI 4’s are nicer, but at $129, the Custom Pro is hard to beat.

Yea...no. I love Lew's baitcasting reels, but their spinning reels aren't even in the same ballpark as Shimano and Daiwa for 200 to $100.

Stradic fj or ci4 are both good reels, I love my Quantum smoke spinning reels. From the sounds of it I need try a Tutula spinning reel I have a couple Tutula baitcasters that I do like so thats will be my next toy.

How do you guys rate BBS Johnny Morris Signature Series Spinning Reel?

They are on sale at Cabela's... I was thinking of picking up a couple, never used one.
