I recently moved from Raleigh, NC to Columbia, SC (~3.5 Hours south). I have my boat insured with Geico/Boat US and when I called to update my address on the policy they informed me that my annual premium would increase ~$116.00. When i asked why there was such an increase, they informed me the farther south you go, the higher the rates. I have a hard time believing that moving 250 miles would justify jacking my rate that high. Has anyone had any experiences like this?
