    Ranger 481v setup

I have a 481v with a 6in jackplate and a gt175 on it. Needing recommendations on prop size for it.

What’s on it now? A 23 Fury is a good place to start.

It’s got a 14.5 aluminum prop on it now. I also have a 14.2x21 raker. I haven’t tried it yet because I was told it would be to small and over rev my motor.

Ok. Ran my boat today and all I got out of it with a 14.5x23 raker was 55mph at 5400rpm. My water psi gauge was right at 14-15 consistent. Is that all it has or can I get more out of it. Thanks.

Rpms are low you should be turning a 23p faster then that. I would make sure the motor is 100% first. What is your prop to pad measurement?

It started out at 3.5. I did move it up some.

Something is off if that's a true 23p you should be turning it well over 5400

I believe it has been reworked. The hole shot is great. I just don’t think I’m getting what I should out of the motor.

Check to make sure the throttle is opening up all the way to the stop.

Ok. Ran my boat this am with a 25p shooter. It ran 55 mph at 5300 rpm. I moved my jack plate up to try and get rpms up but nothing really happened. The hole shot it terrible also. Any thoughts?
