I’ve fished there over 30 years and had never heard it called that until 2-3 years ago. Always called it Washington park

Funny how where you live/lived can change names of things. I lived in chocowinity/Washington from 1991 till 1999 and always heard and called it havens gardens ramp.

Years ago when there was more tournaments there,I always heard and called it city ramp. Won’t even a park there then.
And speaking of ramps,I wish the owners of the old Whitchards Beach ramp would open it back up,maybe put in an honor box for payment. The county won’t issue a building permit due to soil instability so it’s just vacant land now,but it would make a very good tournament site, like it used to be.

^^ I agree. I also miss the grimesland/seine beach ramp. Not great for a large tournament (it has the land to be possible though) but it sure was conveienet. Not a far ride if you wanted to fish up river or downriver once you put in.

Rip the reason swine beach can’t open is the new bridge cut off the access point to it. You have to go through the woods on the left past the state ponds. Shame we can’t get a decent ramp with decent parking. It was really nice when Whichard beach and the city ramp were open, could have as big a tx as you wanted.
