All you guys talking about narrow boats vs the wide boats. If you want a wide boat...then you will be giving up speed. If you want a fast boat that will cut through waves like butter...then narrow is the way to go. Why do you think BCB boats are so fast...cause they are narrow. So a 203 Hybrid is good for them. Charger Elite boats are the wide body champs. I was hoping that the would come out with a 203 next.

I have been following this one since I have heard about it. Looks like I may have to hold off for a bit due to buying a lake house and doing some work to it. Hoping it will be comparable in price to the Skeeter ZXR20/21 when rigged similarly. I see several of the old Champion 203's every weekend at Sam Rayburn and really want one. Currently have a Nitro and cant stand the hull slap when fishing. Oldest brother owned 2 champions and still has his mid 90's 190. They are just unbeatable boats on the lakes I fish.

The AR and TN 203's are different. The rear tank boats rule the roost when it comes to speed and ride. The dead rise in those old skinny Champs gave them the ride. I was talking to Rick for years...I mean YEARS about the 203 before it was ever released. They would not release the "hybrid" until he was satisfied it would do what they expected. I haven't drove one, I have drove several rear and mid tank 203's.

If Charger wants a boat that'll fit a nich, bring back the rear tank 187.

Even Cat is in the wide boat mix with the Jag, Lynx, Caracal, and P Classic. Outside of the Hybrid 203 they are fast because of the hull design, most notably the pad design.

Joe Dorris said at the owner's tournament that they were still a ways out. I don't think he gave a specific date.

I honestly think the 203 “side to side rock” depends on the size/ weight of the person. I am 170lbs and my 203 was solid. There was very minimal rock but when I had someone on my boat that was significantly bigger then me, it was noticeable.

Just a guess, but most likely not. While the rear tank did make for a special ride, it eliminated any storage whatsoever, not to mention an absolutely MPITA servicing any pumps or bilge issues that might occur.

Actually the rear tank 203’s do not have anything blocking access to your pumps. But yes not much storage in the rear deck, just two smaller compartments.
