    Charger 203

Excited to hear there working on a 203 Hull. I love my 198 champ but would like to have a 250, and the 210 is just to big of a boat for me. I think that 203 will be a big hit. I hope it’s a wide body. And I hope it’s not 80 grand like the bass cat 203 hybrid.

First I've heard of this, but a 203 is not a wide boat, 90" beam nor is it beam forward here the beam is carried ahead of he consoles. If you make it wide, you've got a 210 …

I know a 203 is narrower. I didn’t know if they would keep it like it is or try to make it alittle wider. Even if it’s a wider beam but the original length it would be right in between the 198 and 210. It will eat the rough water and fly with a 250. They announced at the champ/charger tourney yesterday that was there next project

That is if it’s rated for a 250.

BCB just released the "hybrid" w/203 (sorry I don't see the Champion anywhere in the boat looks like any other BCB) with a 300 on the back.

If buildinga 203 is the case, my bet is it will be an original 203. Makes no sense to build another beam forward boat between the 198 & 210. Plus there seems to be somewhat of a market for the narrower Champs. Champion did bring back the 203 in 05-06. If there is a HP limitation on a 203, it would be set by the manufacturer. USCG does not limit HP on boats over 20'

Not sure where you are getting your quote but that's not the price of the new hybrid. It's much less than 80k. Unless you are putting 4 15" depth finders then you will be well under that.

That's because you haven't seen the bottom of it. The bottom of the hull is not a BassCat hull. It's a Champion 203 hull with a BCB top cap.

Yes it was announced at the Owners Tourney! I personally am very excited to hear about this! A TRUE CHAMPION 203 HULL. Not some knock off Bass Cat Hybrid!

    Hahahah that's funny......

I don't understand why they are building another 20' boat but good luck.

No need to bash the competition just because you're selling Chargers.

There’s a lot of people that feel the same way I do I think. The 210 is just alittle to much boat. My 198 is great just wish it had a 250. So the 203 is gonna fall right in place. I’m pretty excited to see it I’ve been trying to decide between a 210 or just another 198 now I’ll have a 3rd option. My source on the bass cat price is not very reliable just what I was told.

John I suggest you get your facts straight. Bass cat started developing the 203 hybrid over five years ago. It has been tweaked, tested, and perfected. To say it is some "knock off" is a joke.

Not really.....it's a hybrid not 100% Champion hull then it's a knock off.

Well look at the cap of the BCB version...its not Champion for sure. Looks like a Puma to me. The transom looks like a BCB. I dont know...havent seen it up close but if its a 203 hull great. Still looks like a Bass Cat. I know the Charger will look like and perform like a Champ.

That’s because it IS a BassCat. Was never ment to be a “true Champion hull” it’s called a Hybrid for a reason. If a 100% splash is the route BCB wanted to take it would have been on the water 10 years ago. This is the route they chose to take and they did a darn fine job with it.

Back on topic. Best of luck to Charger in the 203 development. Hope they sell a bunch it’s a good hull.

LOL what do you think Charger is about to do copy a 203! If I want the real deal I will buy a true Mountain home 203. If I want the best of both worlds I will look at buying the new BCB hybrid.

Charger has been splashing the hull and making copies of the original not modifying it/hybrid/knock off.
