    2019 522L rodlockers

I just got a new 2019 521L last week. Am I the only one having problems putting my rods in the rod lockers? It’s a pain getting 8’ rods in there. I broke the tip on one this weekend trying to get it in and out, and yes, I had rod socks on them. I’m thinking of taking out the tubes. Has anyone tried that?

I ordered with out the rod tubes and the fully finished locker and its way easier getting rods in and out and I have put 20 rods in there with room to spare but you do have to use rod soxs. Just FYI for those wondering and having the same issue (don't want to side track your thread). My dealer recommended it and said it was a huge PIA to try and remove them after.

Slide your rods in and out with the reels facing down, it will stop a lot of problems.

I can put in 20 rods into my 520L I use rod gloves and reel covers. I place 3 rods into each tube. just need to figure out what one you plan on using first that day.

Also ordered mine without tubes (my 2015 521C had tubes). Would never have tubes again.

I would either inert rods upside down. Or put the run in and bend it so your eyelets get plenty of clearance as you insert the rod

I like tubes, my R-81 came without them and for me it was a real pain int the butt. Years ago there was a company out there that made kits to install tubes. That's what I did and really like it.
