Lowrance hook 2 transducer problem

I just bought and had a Lowrance hook2 with side imaging installed on my 2005 187 and at 15 -20 mph I loose bottom I'm guessing due to air bubbles, maybe transducer out of water? Not sure what? but can it be mounted to see depths at high speeds?

Side imaging needs slow speeds, such as idle.. Maybe a tad faster. Units which show at speed generally have a transducer glassed inside of bilge area. Someone way more knowledgeable than I can tell you if there is a way to read down imaging as well as side imaging on the one unit.

I could be way off about that part. So hope someone will chime in here. I do know side imaging can only be read at slow speeds.
