Has anyone seen any knock offs of the old LimberNeck spinnerbaits ? The truly ran through any type of weeds without getting skunked up... i'm surprised they didn't become the norm for spinnerbaits. Anyone ?

I still have a couple I wouldn’t think it would be hard to make something similar.
I used to use them in the early 90's. They were awesome in pad fields here in Florida.

Why are these so great? Is it the flexible wire where the blades are attached?
I used to use the originals all the time But they switched manufacturing to Mexico and then started breaking all the time so I quit using them. The originals work fantastic through any types of grass.
There were some in the for sale forum last week! That was the first spinnerbait I owned, blue and yellow of course and caught me a lot of fish!

I still have a couple of the originals somewhere. Now i'll have to see if i can find them and give them a try.
Didn't Roland Martin push these on TV?
These things come through the weeds like nothing else. And if you throw one on braid even better....
It seems like they would be insanely easy to make. Pour a head on a spinnerbait frame as you would normally, cut it off past the wire bend, crimp on some stranded wire that’s the right diameter and stiffness, good to go. I can’t believe none of the home tackle makers are doing it as much as people seem to revere them, there must be some complication I’m not seeing. Or maybe it’s that a lot of bait makers are from places where they fish around a lot of hard cover and these things were wood-grabbing SOBs!

Is that what spawned the birth of the “leverage” spinnerbaits? My buddy bought a couple and then threw all of them away, he said he had a bad hookup percentage with the leverage.
yes there is a guy in Tennessee that makes them will see if I can find his details
Found it drop him a email superglures@charter.net his name is Gary Gibson
I keep meaning to make some, need some wire crimp sleeves and the cable. Believe the sleeves they used were standard leader sleeves where they made the loop for the blades. I have a couple laying around to pattern after. Know someone makes something close now, can't remember who it is though.

Gary's are a little different but work really well. If you can't get in touch with him let me. I know someone that fishes with him.
