    Question 09 Optimax thoughts?

Just wondering if anyone here has owned an 09 175 Optimax. Ive been trying to do some research on them but haven't been able to find any real reviews on them. It seems like they're more reliable than the earlier 2000 opti's but I'd like to know some real opinions before spending any money.

    Thanks!

The later model Optis have a much improved fuel system than the earlier ones and did have some issues, yours is a later year model. If it has been properly maintained and checks out ok,it should be good.

Have had mine over 10 years and no complaints, or issues, whatsoever. DO the annual maintenance covered in the FAQ topic, use the cocktail including PP in fuel, and enjoy.

Edit to add: The 135/150/175 are all 2.5L engines.

Thanks Phil, I'll look into this mysterious cocktail you speak of assuming it's in the FAQ's as I don't know what pp is.

PP = Mercury or Quicksilver Premium Plus. You'll find the cocktail in this FAQ topic, do also check the FAQ for annual maintenance recommendations, link provided. There are several more great info and DIY topics in the FAQ.
