Minn Kota 101, touched positive to negative now won’t Run

I touched my negative to positve wire of my trolling motor to a wrench. Got a POW and big spark and now troll motor doesn’t run. Everything else is working on the boat. I reset the breaker and saw no fuses blown. Need it running for tomorrow. Boat is an 06 Ranger 519. Please help

Start checking for power at the load side of the breaker.

Take the positive lead off the top (red wire I hope) battery then take the leads off the breaker and bolt the breaker leads together. Put the positive lead back on the battery and try the T/M. If it works buy a breaker.

Ok I’ll try that. I just bought a multi meter all batteries have good voltage. To be honest I’m not good with the meter. All fuses on batteries are good.

Measure load side of the breaker to battery negative.

It showed .32 to start with a steady drop. I used the 10 ohm/ DC V setting. Top post on breaker and closest negative post.

You need to be set on 20V.

If you bolted the breaker wires together and it didn't work it ain't the breaker. See if there is a breaker between your batteries or a breaker right at one of the Positive terminals. It will be a small metal box rectangular in shape with a plastic bottom.

It was the main breaker switch, I bypassed it this morning and everything is working. Getting a new switch Monday hopefully. Thanks again for your help! Now have a 6 hour drive.

I did that several times. I never suspected the main breaker because everything else turned on.
