I've never heard or seen that to be the case with Helix units.

With the ONIX and SOLIX if you try to skip some versions the unit will fail to update.

Actually since I’ve asked on here ive been told the same thing by an authorized seller/installer and by a guy who does seminars for Humminbird. They didn’t say it WOULD, they said they sometimes do, so I guess I’ll wait til Humminbird opens on Tuesday. Thanks

I don’t doubt that it would be ok. Guy just said.that he’d had one lock up 2 weeks ago. Better safe than sorry I guess. Thanks

I'd probably do the same thing given the information you have .... I always subscribe to the better safe than sorry method if I can.

Gotta be someone who still has that software.

I have all versions back to version 1.35 but unfortunately don't have or know a way to transfer (my email won't accommodate file size). I'm fairly certain HB will send it though if they know the reason.

Had to send my helix 10 gen 1 si back to Humminbird.Si was dark on left side, turned out they say was transducer.I had the 1.46 and they updated it with 1.90.Have not had time to go try it out to see how it's working.

Had this happen to me. Unit would only cycle through the powering on and powering off screen after I attempted the 1.9 update. Had to send it back to HB.
