Question Garage Door Opener light bulb?

Anyone know if you can use a regular led bulb. I see they make a led bulb for garage door openers. It says it won't interfere with opener like regular LEDs but of course cost three times. Anyone use regular led bulbs? Thanks

What does instructions say to use with your opener? What you don't have instructions in file? Look under G, D or O? Gotta be there somewhere you know you didn't throw in trash! Look it up on Google and tell us what it says!

Use a rough service bulb. Takes the vibration better.

Other than that, the opener light doesn't stay on very long anyway, so the cost of electrons is pretty insignificant compared to all the other stuff going on in your house.

Mine wouldn't open with LEDs. Had to go back to regular bulbs. LEDs interfered with the signal from the remote.

Genie makes a certain LED that is compatible. Get those and no worries.

I have new LEDs and my remote only works intermittently, I'm going to try the"garage door LEDs" sometime here when I get around to it.

Just use rough service or vibration resistent bulbs. There is no real pattern on which openers have the interference problem with LEDs . The 8000 series openers from chamberlain/liftmaster seem to have the least amount of interference. The three frequency rolling code technology helps with the range. Not all interference is caused by the light bulbs I see more issues in houses that use wireless security cameras and wireless door bells.

I removed the bulb, put in a screw in plug, then a 4' Led.
