    Sharrow Propeller Review

Finally a review of the Sharrow prop. In my opinion most boattest.com reviews are really nothing more than good walk through but in this case it seems the testing is fairly controlled and honest. I am looking forward to see what the price on these will be and when they will be available.

I knew that thing was a winner when I first saw it. I wrote the company last year telling them I want to be one of the first to try it on a 20 ft. bass boat. Those #s dont lie..

I wonder why it is made of aluminum?

Between wood in the water and shallow flats with shells mixed with the mud/silt almost everyone here runs a stainless prop. Aluminum props just don't hold up like a SS prop and zero high performance bass boats here run aluminum.

The results in the video are impressive with lower planning speeds and a little higher top end. Lower vibration is another plus.

I would like to see a price comparison between a SS Sharrow prop and equivalent 3 or 4 blade traditional SS prop.

I'm assuming most of the efficiency increases are due to it being made of aluminum. Less rotational mass always equates to being more efficient use of power. Like mentioned above durability will be the cost.

That being said, I'd be interested to see one made of titanium.

They should have used a ss, aluminum and the sharrow instead of 2 ss props. But none the less very interesting.

Pretty good test report. It will be years before that prop makes it to the 250HP catagory. As stated, the aluminum isn't going to hold up at the 250 level of operation. You ding one of those blades and how will it act? None of the prop butchers are going to touch it so it will have to go back to them.

Very good marketing. But meaningless test comparisons, This is bull shit at best, I could set up a good four blade to achieve the same results and top speeds on a performance boat would be pitiful
    Thank You Leon Pugh

Technology advances. The Sharrow prop design appears to eliminate some of the inefficiencies of our current propeller technology which hasn't changed in centuries. It's definitely worth watching.

Very interesting. It's people thinking outside the box that gives us new innovation. I'm not sure how durable it will be. As mentioned hitting even something soft like sand may damage it.

Not sure if it makes sense on a bass boat or any boat that operates in shallow water. Makes sense for an offshore rigs.

What do suppose he could have backed into to come up with that design idea?

Some windmills have similar shaped foils.
