Any new aluminum models coming out in the near future?
We just revealed the new AVX189 Crappie Boat last week
we always have new boat models under development, some are good enough to go into production, others, not so much
and we all know that i cannot comment on unreleased models, but i think it is safe to say you probably wont see any new models announced until after the first of the year.
So do you acually build a boat and test or is it just on paper? What determines if it is not good enough for production?
It's gotta be tough to decide what is a go and what is not, especially with the aluminum market going crazy right now.
Just from my experience with a different manufacture a lot of boats are heavily designed and engineered on paper and computer but can still have little surprises when the first prototypes are built. Sometimes the challenges aren’t even performance related but might be manufacturing or tooling issues. Everyone expects say Vexus to just keep cranking out models but there’s so much that goes into it and a lot of cash. A certain brand of aluminum boat I’m close to they were working on a new aluminum model for 1 1/2 years to have in the 2020 lineup and had to decide in July that it wasn’t ready yet.

Plus all the certifications and marine test! Kudos to Vexus for turning out a top quality product at a steady pace and not just jumping onto the market to sell the most boats.

all of our boats start as paper concepts, then they are gone over , discussed , cussed and gone over again.
then they are given to the CAD and Hydrodynamic designers. you couldn't imagine how much different things are on paper, then when you use a CAD program with exact measurements how things change.
any given point we may scrap the idea and start over. At some point down the line we build a stripped down prototype concept boat for basic testing. Once the design is finalized then real work begins
you can see some of the paper drawings and computer CAD designs in this video
