    mercury 4 stroke 250 pro xs ser# 2b635184

Nitro z20 front motor trim switch shorted out during rain storm, motor was staying in the down trim position. I unplugged the front trim switch and now none of the trim switches work, gear shift, blinker trim or auxilary trim on the engine. I removed the cowl and work the trim.all i can hear is a clicking sound and a fast/short squealing sound for a couple seconds and that's all,any help?

I had a similar situation and it was caused by a poor connection between the relay and it's base. I put some dielectric grease on the connections and replugged the relay back in very firmly, and that fixed my problem.

Make sure your battery is fully charged (and properly connected).
