^^^^ Yep, I have one on my 250R. It's nice. Side note, they do not make steering shaft clips to fit the beefier seastar unit. I found out the hard way but they (DD26) let me return them. I ended up getting the ones gatorback makes and they work fine.

I wish they made one without the steering clips, may hold out to see what others come out with.

They do. The motor tote piece is sold by itself. The clips are a separate purchase

I think he wants one that doesn't need the steering clips like the new Tote rite

If you have an existing Opti MotorMate you can do a simple mod along with Gatorlock steering clips.

    http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=945423

I have reports that MotorMate is now allowing customers to order the Opti model MotorMate and have the cup style ends replaced with the flat ends they use on the Evinrude style MotorMate at no charge. I spoke with MotorMate at ICAST about this and Gatorbak provided them with a sample set of Gatorlocks. This could be your best/least expensive option for the 4.6L V8. I've been using this configuration since July 2018 on my V8 with no issues.

$113.00 for the MotorMate and $16.95 for the Gatorlocks.

Ordered the motor mate and some steering clips, I think for the money that is the best route.

I got their steering clips also on mine. They fit right. Which is the beefier seastar unit?

I went the motormate route. Found the caps at the hardware store. Super simple and best value IMO. Had nothing but good to say about the motormate on my old opti.

Got my dd26 today and it’s a little tough to install motor doesn’t seem to trim up high enough. Takes a little finagle to get in don’t know why. And with the steering clips was $350

When you get your motor, be sure to record the serial number where you will have it ready and available for posting (it's required when posting). Thanks!

If you check out the V6/V8 section of the FAQ's, there are multiple options shown there for you to choose from.
