ChampioNman is right, it all has to do with the condition it failed as to weather it would register as a fault. Mine did not when it went. I checked my code history to see if there were any minor codes that would have lead up to my engine failure, but there was nothing.

Just saying with all the technology and electronics/sensors you would think this could be preventable.

The EMM monitors the circuit of each injector,,it will post a fault for and open or a short in the circuit but not for the actual operation. Oil to the cylinder is still delivered at the same rate.

computer watches for shorts or grounds, but can't see or diagnose a injector with a mechanical issue

Got the head of the port bank and cylinder 2 was scored by the rings unseating and doing damage. The top of the head showed some light signs of damage from rings as well. Piston is able to be “rocked” back and forth a bit.

can bore and sleeve it then replace injectors and have all other injectors tested?

Probably lost the locating pin in the piston allowing the ring to rotate and caught a port.

Guys what does it mean when the connecting rod is an orangish red color? I’m assuming overheating?

The connecting rod on cylinder 2 is orangish red. Does that mean oil or fuel failure?

Most you can go oversize is .030" with factory pistons. You can go to .040" over with after market pistons but then you'll have to do all 6.
