It needs a 60A for motor function at high speed. Check out https://www.minnkotamotors.com/suppo...on-and-rigging
Call Jones Trolling Motor to get one.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
So the positive combing from trolling motor goes to breaker then positive goes from breaker to battery? Negative does not have breaker? My rt 188 came with 50 amp need 60 amp with a 80 fortrex.
thanks for the help

Years ago I upgraded from 65lb Maxxum to 80lb Fortrex and the 50amp breaker never tripped.

Mine hasn’t tripped but don’t seem like it’s getting full power on high

If you take the spark cover off the 50 it says trip amps 67.5 but I had one fail so I put a different style 60 on.
i have seen the contacts corrode on them and cause power issues

Should use the recommended labeled size and type breaker. (The labeled value of a breaker is not its actual trip value.)
