    Ranger trolling circuit breaker

Hey got a rt 188 it has a fortrex 80 on it. Question is does it need a 60 amp breaker because ranger puts 50 amp?
if so where can I get one?

It needs a 60A for motor function at high speed. Check out https://www.minnkotamotors.com/suppo...on-and-rigging

Call Jones Trolling Motor to get one.

Right. It’s all one circuit so a breaker anywhere will interrupt power.

Years ago I upgraded from 65lb Maxxum to 80lb Fortrex and the 50amp breaker never tripped.

Mine hasn’t tripped but don’t seem like it’s getting full power on high

Breaker will give full power until it trips, so that isn’t an issue.

If you take the spark cover off the 50 it says trip amps 67.5 but I had one fail so I put a different style 60 on.
i have seen the contacts corrode on them and cause power issues

Should use the recommended labeled size and type breaker. (The labeled value of a breaker is not its actual trip value.)
