Edit: (I should have looked at the pic first) That’s an early 05, I don’t know about that one. I know the late 05’s can with some work.
Thanks...........I wish there was a way to confirm. I have a buddy that went and saw it in person and said he didn't see any bolt holes.
From the pics it looks modular and should be able to be removed, but hoping someone can confirm.
When I bought my 2008, I had one added and it was bolted in. I think an 05 has the same console

My 01-196 is removeable so yours should be too.
my buddy's 03 196 had a removable console

do you think the one I am talking about is removable?
I think you might be able to force it off, but I don’t know if it will be pretty when done. What does the owner say about it? Let me search google and Facebook.
I’ll keep searching.

Seems I recall some of the early modular consoles being attached. So, if it's not molded into the top cap, it'll come off. If you look under and there are no bolts, it won't be pretty when it comes out, but it'll be repairable.
This should be the same.

But that's a factory single console. What I meant above, if it's a dual console and the console is molded into the top cap like the first pic vs a modular console like the second pic.

The passenger consoles on the 198 and 196 were removable after 2003 I think. Removing one would leave some damage. The style was changed in the later 05 models. The easy on easy off was not intro'd until 08/09 if I remember correctly.
I removed my passenger console on my 2005 198, just be careful and cut the glue as you pry and pull..
I inserted stainless steel nut inserts to reinstall it if needed,
only put back in twice for a short time in the last 6 years.
