Triton Did Right by Me-No more barge

At the invitation of the Triton factory guys, I took my TRX 20 to Midway last week. Dropped it off running 60 mph. Picked it up three days later running mid 70s with good bow lift. I want to thank all the guys and gals at the factory for their professionalism and attention to my issues. It was OUTSTANDING customer service. I will be a positive Triton spokesman!

Lowered the motor on the jack plate and installed shims to give the motor a bit more trim.

Interesting that they had to add shims. I’m glad they got you fixed up!

Good on Triton. I just wonder why the dealer couldn’t help with this.

The same reason most RV dealers couldn't set up a weight distribution hitch to save their lives. They don't know. Unless the dealership is literally on the water they're not going to waste their time running back and forth to the water to get a single boat dialed in. I'm sure Triton provides a "baseline" for setup that gets it 80% there, most of the time.

Wonder why just your boat needs additional wedges for trim?

Friend of mine recently had to add wedges to his 19TRX, same issue.

Added them to my 22trx and fixing to add them to my 20model 21trxs, made a big difference on my last rig.

Yes, what is different about the boats that need them?

Seems to give them a lit more trim angle and gets the bow to lift more.

makes me wonder if the hull is hooked. That would drive the bow down.

If the hull had a hook there is no shim that would make it lift. I talked to the folks at Triton and they had to adjust the throttle, went through a couple props, changed the set-up, and also added the 2 degree wedge to the jackplate.

My 16 model 22trx was fine until I put the ultrex on and took the MG off. My 18 and 19 ran the same way until I put the wedges in and my 20 is the same way. If they are hooked everyone one I’ve had and been in are hooked and I’m not buying that theory.
