    Need help please

05 225 hpdi. How do I know for sure the lower motormounts are worn? I notice when I trim up and down the motor bounces some. Is there a for sure way to check?

also if I replace them would y’all advise going back with oem or the solid mounts. From what I have read there is the vibration problems from the solid mounts. What do y’all think? Thanks for the info.

It is a trade off. Solid mounts = more vibration and better handling.

If you have had any chine walking, it is easier to drive with solid engine mounts.

Look for excessive play in the lower mount. Also look for excessive play in the motor tilt tube and the trim rams. This is caused by wear in the cheapassed nylon bushings in the tilt tube and trim ram clevis. That's a very common problem.

How much play would be excessive?
