I need a tighter rear hub seal

01 single axle EZ loader on my tr-20. I just had a rear bearing blow out, and took my hub with it...so I replaced the whole side with everything new. My problem I am having is the ID is 1.68". It seems to be a little too big. When I grease that side, its pushing out from the seal...and I did not blow out the seal with over greasing to cause this.

    Its a 3500lb axle.

When I replaced the hub assembly, there was a metal collar on the axle, where the seal goes on. I damaged this collar and had to cut it off. I didnt know what it was at the time and the new hub assembly didnt come with a new one. Now at this moment, I have a feeling that collar was to tighten up the seal fitment on the axle. ANy ideas?

    Yes

Replace the stainless steel wear ring you cut off and the 1.68 seal will fit properly.

The wear ring is made to be replaced, so when it gets a groove in it from where the seal lip spins on it, you can have a new wear surface for the new seal.

No. The bearing rolls on the race. Seal rides on wear ring

    Worn wear ring.

    New wear ring installed.

Tools I use to install a new wear ring. I know it's overkill, but I can get it on with one smack of the dead blow hammer.
