    Millwood

My buddy and I are planning our yearly spring trip and Millwood is one of the lakes we have narrowed it down to for this spring. Is this a numbers lake, big fish or both?Looking for recommendations on lodging, restraunts near the lake and best month to fish in the spring.

Millwood is incredible in March for numbers and size. It can be a dangerous lake so please be aware of that. There is lodging near Yarborough landing and a really good Cajun restaurant there. It's also close to Ashdown and Texarkana so you can find anything you want there. Good luck!

There are nice cabins at Yarborough landing that I always stay at.

We're in Texarkana, about 30 minutes south of Millwood. I would suggest Texarkana for lodging and meals. There is a good fish place not far from Yarborough landing though. Yarborough is where you would want to put in. It's considered midlake. The lake has lots of Bois de ark ( pronounced bodark) and Cypress. Run only in the marked runs and don't get out except to fish. Numbers and big fish will start showing up in late January through April with tournaments each weekend. Also a great crappie lake. If looking for a guide service, contact Millwood guide service, Mike Seifert.

Mud lake or Horseshoe to see the big lizards. Watch carefully, the blend with logs when setting on top.

When does the spawn usually occur on Millwood for bass? Is bass fishing usually better in March or April? Thanks in advance for any info!
