    Beltzville......?s for the experts

    Hi guys,

I am thinking of going to Beltzville for the first time and just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on general patterns or areas of the lake to try this time of year for a rookie.

Not looking for any honey holes, just something to keep me from being too skunkilicious!

    Thanks, RL

Ain't no honey holes in that place!! The lake might be drawn down this time of year so just a heads up. As far as what to try....I still can't figure that place out! Might be better off going to Wallenpaupack

The Pack or Buttsville, that is a tough choice. If my outing yesterday is any indication, it's gotta cool off a little more to be worth going out. Maybe the lakes have cooled off, tidal water has not. Walking topwater baits, soft and hard jerkbaits, small tube, swimbaits. I'd try these one the main lake and the creeks and then re-evaluate.

Red Lund buddy of mine had 17 LM last sunday. I seen pictures... my guess is the water temp is right. Start shallow and work out in creeks.....

work the creeks, work the hump before the creeks., all in all the lake is largely very tough.

I'm fairly certain if I was you I'd be sitting fishing the dam though. Smallie bite is right this time of year down there.

Wallnpaupak is drawn down alot. Did good last week when we were out. Smallies loved NEDs and WACKY shallow and largies liked
S/Bs right off the deep weed lines. We got 8 with the largest was a 3.82 smallie. Need to drop a few more degrees and JERKBAIT time.

Wait no honey holes???? I agree it's a tough lake. But it has always been a place you need to spend time on to catch fish.

Generally speaking, would you guys say Beltzville is a deep fishery (like a Candlewood where they sit on structure in 30-40 ft in the winter) or more of a bank oriented fishery?
